Yin Yoga & Qigong

Offering a unique experience to release and restore body and mind using these wonderful complementary disciplines. The morning will begin with Qigong exercises to clear and balance our energy and move to a passive floor-based Yin Yoga practice to mindfully explore our edge.

Qigong optimises the body’s health through movement and helps to ground, cleanse and revitalise. Yin Yoga consists of long held poses, supported by the use of props, offering the space to slow down, soften and simply ‘be’.

Both Qigong and Yin Yoga help to improve chi flow through the meridian system. This workshop will give you the opportunity to unwind, let go and cultivate stillness.

The day will end with Savasana, a deep guided relaxation.

Welcome to ZenZone Yoga, offering yoga classes, therapeutic one to ones, workshops and retreats across Bournemouth, Wimborne, The New Forest, Dorset and the UK.

My name is Cheryl Ellis and I am a Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Medicine and a YM Therapeutic Specialist. I started practicing yoga almost 20 years ago, which eventually blossomed into a passion for teaching.

After years of dedicated practice, I completed Zenways Yoga Teacher's Training under Zen master Daizan Skinner. I continued to train in Yin Yoga with Teachers Norman Blair and Sarah Lo, and have since completed my 300hr Senior Training with Yoga Medicine, covering modules in Orthopaedic Injury (Hip, Spine and Shoulder), Myofascial Release, Women's Health, Mental Health, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Meditation.

I am passionate about using yoga as a form of medicine for the mind, body and spirit. Inspired to support others to achieve healthier, stronger bodies and calmer minds, I love to share the practice and the numerous benefits it can bring to peoples lives and well-being.

Whether you are looking to join a group class or work privately on an individual basis, yoga can help you to build strength, increase flexibility and create a sense of calm. Group classes are suitable and accessible for all levels and focus on physical alignment, awareness or mindfulness, breath work, and myofascial release techniques. Private One to one's take place in a home studio and are individualised and tailored to meet your needs or condition, with personalised and ongoing support. For those looking to retreat and immerse themselves in a day or weekend workshop, these are a wonderful way to work more deeply using yin and restorative, nurturing practices to help you unwind the tissues of the body.
