For this all-day workshop, I'm delighted to be teaming up with psychologist Isabelle Roney, the Clinical Team Lead & Consultant Counselling Psychologist at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Isabelle is also currently studying mindfulness at Samye Ling.
Anxiety, depression and insomnia are affecting more and more of us as we live increasingly fast and stressful lives. This workshop aims to provide support and coping techniques for those currently experiencing difficulties managing their day-to-day lives. Let's take our monkey minds in hand!
You'll be taught slow, gentle yoga to effect deep relaxation within the body and, by association, the mind. There will be several mindfulness meditation sessions throughout the day offering the opportunity to observe your thoughts in a non-judgmental, safe space. We'll also be incorporating breathwork exercises to target the parasympathetic nervous system, slowing heart rate and reducing blood pressure and cortisol levels. Through discussion and sharing we'll be exploring stress triggers and learning how to manage response and reaction.
This event is fully catered -- vegetarian, gluten-free -- with lunch, morning and afternoon snacks and drinks provided.
If you would like to find out more about this event, please get in touch.

I've practised Hatha yoga for 25 years and hold a 500-hr, CYQ Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Yoga. I currently run Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga classes in Berwick-upon-Tweed and Etal in North Northumberland, and Coldstream in the Scottish Borders.
Classes are suitable for all abilities and include movement, breathwork and meditation. I provide modifications and progressions to ensure that you get the practice that is right for you.
Most of all, I believe in making yoga accessible and enjoyable for everyone! We laugh a lot, wobble and fall over, bit always leave feeling calmer and more peaceful.
